Postponement of 45th Freiburg Infrared Colloquium

Much to our regret, the evolving assessment of possible impacts of COVID-19 related restrictions compels us now to postpone the 45th Freiburg Infrared Colloquium to a later date. The prospective lack of a vaccine, international travel restrictions and mandatory social distancing do not allow holding the conference in the manner expected by our participants.

As on-site person-to-person discussions and networking is an integral ingredient of a successful colloquium, an online event is not a suitable alternative. Hopefully, global efforts on providing vaccines will show quick progress, allowing us to announce a new date for the conference soon.

We will inform you as soon as we have set a new date and hope that you will be joining us for the next Freiburg Infrared Colloquium.

Until then, stay safe,

Dr. Robert Rehm
Conference Chair

Freiburg Infrared Colloquium

Infrared laser and detector technology is key for the development of high-performance systems for defense, security and space applications.

In addition to those traditional fields, the role of infrared lasers and detectors in areas like medical diagnostics, gas analysis, spectroscopy as well as material processing and testing is growing rapidly.

The Freiburg Infrared Colloquium brings together scientists, development engineers and users of infrared lasers and detectors. Topics cover physics and material science of infrared components as well as device fabrication and system aspects. To foster a lively exchange during the workshop, a poster session is scheduled for the first afternoon.

The Freiburg Infrared Colloquium 2019 was held with support of:
